Designer Carina Riezebos has been producing objects made of glass and crystal under her own label 'Carina', for many years already and always on the cutting edge of art and appliance. Next to that, Carina has a an extensive career working for other designers and companies. For example, she was the Creative Director of House of Hermeta Holland, for whom she designed a collection of exclusive design hooks made of aluminum and glass.

In 2017 she surprised the international interior industry during Salone Del Mobile in Milan with her presentation Suger & Spice, followed by Obscure in 2019. From her modern translation of the famous claire obscur and both the Italian and Dutch mastery, she then launched the Black Veneer Collection; a triptych of paint, and dark veneer that can be combined, in which the combination of materials and textures stimulates all the senses.
Parallel to all this, as the Art Director of the Dutch company BLOK Plaatmaterialen, Carina is responsible for the growth of their creative potential with the label Blok by Carina.

For Carina, nature with all its beauty is a drive to achieve maximum results with minimal resources, like a true master. In close collaboration, for the Island Collection, we curated a number of very exclusive light objects, as well as a number of beautiful design icons from her rich oeuvre.
