Arthur van Buuren has worked with many different materials, but ultimately it is glass that makes his heart beat faster. That is why he presents his work as ‘heArthur’.
Arthur experiments with graphic forms and colors to create striking three-dimensional objects from coloured sheetglass. He has developed his ‘3D-glassfusion’-technique, an innovation so he can melt glass together, instead of using glue. This leads to a more durable result.
The results feel like a new ‘language’ in glass, because usually results from 'glassfusion' are flat twodimensional, instead of these threedimensional results.
In his process he has stories, memories and images in mind. And so, heArthur creates intuitively glass personalities.
